Easter Carrot Snack Mix

Posted on

I first made this snack mix a few years ago with Santa hats ( and instantly imagined making it with carrots the following year for Easter.  I finally made it happen and here it is.  This is a simple mix that you could put any snack items in you would like.

What I used:

  • Rice Chex
  • Pretzel Sticks
  • White chocolate melts (orange, green, white)
  • Reese Pieces or M&M’s
  • Bugles Chips

I made the carrots by using a broken pretzel and Bugle.

  1. Dip tip of chip into orange chocolate not getting any in the opening.
  2. Then let cool in freezer for a few min.
  3. Next dip tips of the pretzels in the green chocolate and place in the opening.
  4. Then let cool in freezer again for a few min to sit up.
  5. After cool dip the pretzel end into the green chocolate.
  6. Let cool while finishing the Chex mix.

Chex Mix

  • In a large bowl place Chex and pretzels.
  • Warm white chocolate melt and poor over top
  • Place on a lid and shake or mix with a spoon.
  • I place mine in freezer until chocolate is set.
  • When done brake it apart and place it in a bag or clean bowl.
  • When ready to serve or putting in goodie bags is when I mix in the M&M’s and carrots.  This  limits the amount of white chocolate that comes off and looks like powdered sugar as it is moved around.

Hot Chocolate Gifts

Last year I wanted to buy mini glass milk bottles for my sons birthday party. None of the local stores carried them at the time so my choices were buying online with crazy shipping or buying some bottled Starbucks Frappuccino at my local supermarket and remove the labels.

So its been well over a year and I still have the sitting around and was trying to figure out what to do with them.  My kids love to drink hot coco out of them so I decided to make a mini hot coco bar in a box.

I just traced the carton on a sheet of 12×12 scrapbook paper and then glued it together.  It only takes one sheet unless you want to use different patterns.  I then added a circle on the top of the lids but spry painting them would work great as well.  Then I added some scrape ribbons on the bottles.  The last thing is to fill with items of your choice.  I put candy canes, coco mix, peppermint marshmallows, and cookies inside mine.

Decorative Candy Boxes/Party Favors

The two boxes on the right are just movie sized candy boxes wrapped in scrapbook paper.  This is one of my favorite things.  Not only are they great favors but they look great and become part of the design.

Below are little boxes of lemon heads wrapped in the same way.   The candy was 5 for $1.00 so you can’t find anything cheaper or easier.

Today I found myself days away from the last day of school and no idea what the kids should give their teachers as a small thank you.   I then remembered taking my 3rd grader to Hobby Lobby a few weeks ago.  She thought her teacher would love all the office supplies with bling.  I thought that would be great because it was something she picked out and who could not use a cute pair of scissors.  I just added a cute paper packs from the next isle that came with a ribbon tied around them with a plain tag already.

Then all I did to personalize it was add pink paper behind the tags and print a little note saying “You’re one sharp teacher!”  Then I placed the scissors under the ribbon that came with the paper.

So if you work at my kid’s school close your eyes now!  If not then we made these cute little gifts for the ladies in the office,  the nurse, and all the specials teachers this year.  We will be doing something a little more for their teachers but wanted to send a little something for all the people that make the kids feel so special everyday.
